;You sit and try to play me;
[x]They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder. Mariposa didn't buy it. She'd been alone for a while and she didn't, not even for a moment believe that when she came across another equine she would be quite fond of them. In her past she'd come across to many others who'd wished to harm her in anyway they could, she for so long had felt alone even when someone was there to help her through.
[x]They say beauty is only skin deep, but who really looked at an ugly mare and though ' Maybe she's a great person'. In all honestly Mariposa might be a bit plain but not at all was she ugly it was what she told herself. Her mother had been a beautiful Palomino mare, with deep golden eyes. If only Mariposa could have looked more like her mother and less like her father, maybe then her life would have been different.
[x]A million stars shined down drown out by the moon. A thick darkness blanketed the open lands. The grass whispered as a gentle breeze swayed them. Rapid hoof beats cut their chatter. Her mane took to the air, tassels whipped her hind limbs viciously and yet Mariposa moved along unphased. A thick layer of sweat foamed along her dark nape. Auds were flattened against her skull protecting them from the wind that ran it's seething fingers through her bright mane. Moonlight shone off her sleek canvas and muscles rippled beneath it. Hooves touched the ground lightly and quickly propelling her large frame along gracefully. As if she had been gliding along just above the surface.
[x]She felt as though she would never tire, she never wanted to stop. Until the land ended and the pain was gone she'd run from her life. But she knew it would never happen, she could never escape herself and fate. Finally she brought her speed down to a slow trot. Whenever she got a spare moment she thought, dreamed of her life as a fairytale. Her prince charming saving her living happily ever after. Mariposa doubted she could ever live happily ever after she figured after about four days she'd be restless. Ready to run free, you see since she could take care of herself she'd been running, finally free of her burdens all of then but guilt and it seemed she could never outrun that one. Happiness was far from Mariposa's reach.
[x]They say you can never be perfect, but then they tell you practice makes perfect. What did they know anyway?

Lupas Umm... yeah. We so rock.
The pound of galloping hooves and the frantic beat of him heart thumped against the charger’s eardrums. Scarred pillars were flying and messy mane whipped back and forth as he ran, flicking into his eyes, momentarily hiding the world from view. Faster and faster he sprinted, struggling to outrun his pursuers. Their hoof beats were getting louder and louder, gaining on him, caching up. Go faster, Lupas, run away from the anti-anarchy! But however rapidly he moved, they were always on his tail, drawing their energy from hatred and most likely, jealousy. But despite the grey stags predicament, there was a gleeful joy written across his wild features.
OK, shall we pause here for a small moment? The dapple-grey mustang that was fleeing from the fuming Foirfe was called Lupas, which the brute was told, when he was a lawless colt, meant wolf. How true it was, he had no idea at all, and didn’t care particularly, anyway. But that isn’t the point of this. The point is that Lupas, being himself, was escaping from a group of young Foirfe males, whom he had recently offended. Yet again.
You see, dear Lupas was Saoirse. Not just any Saoirse, however: he was a true wild one, descended from the guards of the heart that had been taken over, many hundreds of years ago. One of roughly nine siblings (at last count that is) he spent his foal hood with very little control and structure. But that’s not the point either. Oh yeah, the chase.
Still galloping, Lupas ran almost headlong into a mare, forcing him to skid to a halt. Whoops. Through the dust cloud, the stag managed to get a good look at the flick. Hmm: he didn’t know the maiden, which was weird (Yes, as unlikely as it sounds, Lupas knew almost everyone who hung around these parts. Most of them had a strange dislike of him for some reason).
“Hey girl. Have we not met?”
I swear, from his tone you would not know that he was being pursued by a herd of rabid stallions. The brute turned his shaggy dome in time to see the herd being snared by thing clumps of brambles, which had spontaneously appeared, struggling to free themselves. Lupas laughed manically.
“Seriously squares,” he addressed the brutes. “un-cool.”
He turned and grinned at the mare again. Nope, he definitely hadn’t met her. But there was a first time for everything and recently there had been many firsts, and a few too many lasts.

;You sit and try to play me;
[x] Monotoned cranium whipped around as the sounds of another set of hoof beats, her gentle chocolate eyes fell upon the brute. She didn't move at all instead she let him skid to a halt and turned her body to face him. Her bright eyes then turned to the other hoof beats, more then she could count in her head just by listening. Her attention turned to him as he spoke then back to the others as they were tangled in the brambles.
[x]Mariposa was also of Saiorse. Without her mothers care it was the Earth who had fed her kept her alive, the Earth who'd herded others to her and herself to others and she owed her life to the Earth in more then one way. The wilderness was all that was needed to live, the bare minimum was the perfect life for her. She lived by the rules of Saiorse, no regrets, no complaints. She loved the freedom, the feeling of freedom, being able to run forever and never having to look back. But most of all she loved to watch others be free, they who seemed so much more beautiful, they looked so much more grateful, and they looked as if they could had never been farther from deaths grasp. So alive.
[x]A smile slipped across her muzzle, harks flicked gently as she recalled his question. It was an easy one for her, she didn't know anyone, forced to continue on never stopping, never allowing herself to get too attached. Of course she didn't know him, she was doomed to a life of solitude, a fate she'd accepted, more then willing after all, she still had her life as unlikely as it had seemed. No, she'd never seen him, never spoken to him but he seemed nice enough and she herself was kind. Some degree of friendship seemed likely, perhaps no best friends but friends of some sort.
[x]"No, we have not. I am Mariposa"
[x]Mariposa had found out her own name had meant butterfly. Lupus would not be the only to live up to his name. Mariposa had an elegance, when she walked she seemed to float, to glide. She was a beautiful colourful character though she herself would never admit this. She had often been told that she was unique though that word seemed to mean less and less to her as she grew older. At this point, she was unique, just like everyone else.
