Plot
The Verdant Forest is a land of plenty. In the North, the mountains surround vast fields that are as green as could be, splattered with patches of yellow wildflowers all throughout. The soil there is rich and fertile, making things grow faster than they do anywhere else. On the Eastern coast, as well as the sea, there are forests of many young trees, and a secluded field of long, wispy grass. The West is a land of many lakes, which are surrounded by fields of golden grasses and another small forest. But there is a dark side to the land, as well. The South is a shadow-filled land that contains the biggest and oldest forest in the region, as well as many swampy marshes and caves. The land is so diverse that many can thrive there. Truly, the Verdant Forest is the ideal place to live.
But something strange is beginning to happen in this beautiful place. As new foals are being born into the Verdant Forests, a strange thing is beginning to happen. The foals are strange. They look...wrong. Many of them are displaying...unique properties, such as unnatural coloring and markings, strange abilities, and highly advanced minds. While most horses aren't too bright and mainly follow their instincts to survive, this new, frightening breed of equines are beginning to use logic, something that was, until now, purely human. The humans have cut off all ties to the Verdant Forests, which are situated on an island the size of England. It has been condemned as a biohazardous zone, and none are allowed in or out.
There are many herds that call the Forests home, as well as many loners. There are the Blessed herds - pleasant, kind horses who live in the North and worship the god Adonai and the godess Astrea; the Balanced herds - stubborn, yet civil horses who live in the East and worship no god; and the Cursed herds - cruel, barbaric horses who live in the south and worship the god Xandeth and the godess Indrani. The Cursed and the Blessed have always fought, for as long as anyone can remember, but now the Cursed herds have been causing an uprising, steadily building their numbers until they day they are strong enough to overthrow the stronghold of the Blessed kingdom. With the Balanced horses caught in the middle, who knows how many horses will be killed? But there is one shining beacon of hope.
The Prophecy, an age-old tale that both Blessed herds and Cursed herds believe in, has told of a savior:
And there will be a foal,
born to a Blessed one,
but fathered by evil.
The foal will take the Cursed form of his father,
and will master each of the Cursed powers,
but his heart will not be consumed by evil, but by good
though he will not be trusted by his Blessed kin
He shall prove himself worthy to the Blessed
and lead them to fight when the Cursed herds attack
He will defend his home and his herd
and the Blessed ones shall thus prevail.
What's Happening Now?[/u]
The rivalry is building, as the Cursed ones begin recruiting Balanced horses to join their twisted religion and killing the ones who refuse, while the Blessed try to reverse their doings by preaching the word of their benevolent gods. The foal of which the Prophecy speaks has just been born, but his father, the most powerful Cursed Lord in the lands, believes that the Blessed mare he attacked last spring is dead, so he does not know that the foal is his.
Information[/u]
Here at eleMENTAL, we don't force our members to post a minimum number of words, but we do encourage them to make detailed posts that are easy to reply to. Our philosophy is that if we don't FORCE our members to write lengthy posts, it will take the stress off of them, which helps make them more comfortable here. And when they are comfortable, their brains may start buzzing and make them WANT to post long role plays.
At eleMENTAL you have the choice of role playing a Cursed, Blessed, Balanced, or Untouched horse. You may have as many characters as you can keep up with.
We are a BRAND NEW RP site and we're in dire need of friendly, active members. Will you join us?
Hope to see you there![/u][/size]
